Operations Security Assessment
- A process of analyzing information and indicator sources associated with operations and other activities to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of an organization in protecting its critical information from adversaries. Note: Operations security techniques include: (a) identifying critical information that must be protected. (b) identifying indicators of information that can be observed or obtained by adversaries that could be interpreted or pieced together to derive critical information in time to be useful to adversaries, and (c) selecting and recommending measures that eliminate or reduce the vulnerabilities of friendly actions or information to adversary exploitation.
